Definitely

Definitely has been the cry of my heart
in this cold
in this darkest night

Do I see what I prayed for?
Yes
and in a measure I couldn't weigh
sure going to keep asking

I dumped the heights of my understanding
Education and degrees, like Paul,
I've abandoned

Everything that exalts itself against the knowledge of Christ
Landmark and Kern, Wellman twice.
I gave it up and went steady on
believing in what sight said was completely wrong.

And He gave me WISDOM.
Capital W-I-S and D.
For His kingdom that established above money.

I'm definitely decided on what this life will mean.
I'm not going home empty without trust or keep.
I'm leaning on The Captain of heaven's armies.
I'm spreading The Message come death or God's Peace.

A Letter to My Lord

(Written Sept. 6th 2010)

I wanted to write a love letter to God after reading about the joys of doing so in The Five Love Languages of God

You cause my pen to move.
My brush paints the colors of You.
The dance I give speaks of the love
You with open arms are spreading...

And I sing. It's 'cause I'm moved by You.
You are my breath, so You know it too
that when I think to compose a song,
it's with You...

in mind

You cause my hands to shape
the wonders I have seen to date
You give me rhyme for Your Name's Sake
I praise You Lover and King
far better than Solomon to me

I want Your Name, to wear it
from within
It to be the greeting on my tongue
My food when I am hungered

If I give words, You give worth.
If I give life, You give birth.

Let me have my answers
to the mysteries that lie in your eyes
in seeing You, yes,
one day when I behold You in Your Majesty
I know my heart will fail
but my soul will sing:

for the the very first time
O'er the Man that leads me

Hallowed Tribe - A Song

Dedicated to the Karen of Burma

A response to the students of KBTS
Hallowed Tribe

(1)
Light came soon
penetrated the darkness of our land
We were the forgotten ones
Afraid of life (voice 2), did time stand still...
like Judson, our judge, we saw our Messiah

Purchased too
The flood of living water--covers our land
We're not the forgotten ones
Added to the family (voice 2), we begin again
No hurt, no pain, can separate from our Savior.

Chorus: Praise God our strength, our defender,
our King. In His ways, we have the strength
to sing. And sing. We sing

Glory
Glory to King
Glory
Glory to King

What can stop us now? Not death, not danger, not fear,
not trouble, not might, not famine,
--He delivers.
--Our Lord--He is more--our reward.

(2)
Thank God for the blood
running through our land
to wipe away death in the end

Thank God for the enemy's knives at our throats
We bleed Hope, so others hear and know
He lives
Oh with every sigh, we see the Kingdom.

What can stop us now? Not death, not danger, not fear,
not trouble, not might, not famine,
--He delivers.
--Our Lord--He is more--our reward.

For we are standing on the rock
And His strength and light in us shines strong
God gives us the strength to war
And tells the story of His Love through us.

Chorus: Praise God our strength, our defender,
our King. In His ways, we will have the strength
to sing. And sing. We sing...

Glory
Glory to King
Glory
Glory to King

What can stop us now? Not death, not danger, not fear,
not trouble, not might, not famine,
--He delivers.
--Our Lord--He is more--our reward.

In Sight

They go around holding pep rallies
The rallies are for a fee
But, I don't mind
because their actions fund
a great and glorious machine

spreading the gospel to places unseen
Not you or I can take it there,
'cause they will not hear the words
of our mouths, but to the songs of our hearts

they'll listen

play on
the golden chord
the eeirie chorus
like other worlds were here

Can't see Him
Feel Him
Can't touch Him
Know Him
Every ion leaps

Passion

We suffer because we know there is something better

I remember a mountain climb
in hail, we were thirsty, one of us wounded
In selfishness I had bounded ahead,
I left the wounded behind...

But, you Rachel, stayed with our wounded friend
You, wrapped with two heavy packs on the front and back
But when I and another reached the top and found we couldn't leave
When rain started falling, hail so thick we couldn't see

You climbing up

I feared then. I feared for your life.

After ten miles of hellish heat, we started back down again to find you
the flash flooding could have killed us
the lightning could have killed us
the hail should have killed us
but we pressed though
together

Now, what can be said.
What an adventure, none dead.
But, I cannot fathom the story with another ending.

---

Just as He went
up that hill for us
suffering and death could not have been on his mind
the rescue
He suffered because He knew there was something better

---

Right, the sun refused to shine
Wicked beings killing our Maker?
Do you suppose there was some earth quaker?
Or did she shake with fury at injustice?

I imagine the sun said, "I can't watch this..."
I imagine the earth tried to do what He wouldn't permit.
He held the earth still, called no angels to His will.
He drank suffering and with passion said, forgive them.

Can we pray that prayer?

"We must focus on Jesus, the source and goal of our faith. He saw the joy ahead of him, so he endured death on the cross and ignored the disgrace it brought him. Then he received the highest position in heaven, the one next to the throne of God."
Hebrews 12:2
